Lip lift surgery

A lip lift shortens the distance between the nose and the upper lip, lifting and rebalancing the lip and revealing a little more of the upper teeth. For the right person it is a subtle, lasting alternative to repeated filler.

About the procedure

What it involves

With age the space between the nose and lip can lengthen and the upper lip can roll inward, making the mouth look flatter. A lip lift removes a small, carefully measured strip of skin at the base of the nose to lift the lip into a fuller, more defined position.

It is a short procedure, usually carried out under local anaesthetic, with the scar placed in the shadow of the nose. [Confirm Ms Bowers' technique, anaesthetic and setting.]

Common questions

Lip lift surgery FAQs

Lip lift or lip filler?

Filler adds volume; a lip lift changes the proportions by shortening the upper lip. They address different things, and Ms Bowers will advise which suits your goals.

Where is the scar?

The scar sits at the base of the nose, where it is well concealed, and fades over time.

Is it permanent?

The change is long-lasting, though the face continues to age naturally.
